Trail Rides

Double D Equestrian Center rests on 867 acres of beautiful, rolling hills along the scenic banks of the Tar River in Louisburg, North Carolina (just north of Raleigh NC).  The Daniels family developed nearly 14 miles of riding trails throughout this vast green space for people to come out and enjoy on horseback.   The trails wind through ancient cypress stands that date back some 2000 years and are home to a pair of enormous North American Bald Eagles, a rare and beautiful sight that all will enjoy... AND so close to home!

  • Trail rides are $10/day/horse during Hours of Operation.  Payment may be placed in the black mailbox located on the front of the office building.
  • Riders must be 10 years of age or older.
  • You must use your own horse.  Horses are not available for rent.
  • Trail rides are self-directed.  Guides are not provided or available for trail rides.
  • Horse Liability release form and proof of negative Coggins must be on file in the Double D Equestrian Center office.
  • Horse Liability release form and Trail Map are available in the office (entrance on left side of building).

Riding Arenas

In addition to the 14-miles of trails, Double D Equestrian Center includes two riding arenas:   a lighted, outdoor arena (140’ by 250’) with a full jump course and a large lighted, covered arena (60’ by 330’) for all-weather horseback riding.  Flat, grassy areas are available for hacking and working on the flat when you want to give your horse a break from the ring.
