Double D Equestrian Center was originally known as Daniels and Daniels Farm and Little Egypt Plantation. The site is the Daniels family’s old dairy operation that was founded by their grandfather, Clyde, and their father, Cameron. The dairy herd was dispersed in December 2000, and Double D Equestrian Center was founded in its place.
The facility consists of 867 acres of beautiful rolling hills along the scenic banks of the Tar River just outside of Louisburg NC. The Daniels family has developed nearly 14 miles of riding trails throughout the vast green space for horseback riding pleasure. The trails wind through ancient cypress stands, which date back some 2000 years, and are home to a pair of enormous North American Bald Eagles. This rare beauty is one that all are invited to enjoy.
Several of the dairy’s barns have been remodeled into horse boarding facilities that accommodate 70 horse stalls, multiple tacking and wash stalls, and one large, lighted covered arena (60’ by 330’). There is also a lighted outdoor arena (140’ by 250’) with a full course of jumps. The spacious stalls (16’ by 20’) allow the horses plenty of room to move. The stall floors are covered with rubber matting and pine shavings for comfort. Ample space is available for tack and equipment storage and for feed and hay.
We invite everyone in Raleigh and the surrounding area, as well as from all over the state of North Carolina, to come to Double D Equestrian Center and enjoy the peacefulness and tranquility that this land has to offer. Double D is a great place to bring the whole family and enjoy an alcohol- and drug-free environment. We have chosen to preserve our land and natural resources instead of developing it into housing units that use up our surrounding natural resources and destroy the surrounding landscape.
