Double D
Equestrian Center was originally known as Daniels and Daniels
Farm and Little Egypt Plantation. The site is their family's old
dairy operation which was founded by their grandfather, Clyde, and
their father, Cameron. The dairy herd was dispersed in December of
2000 and Double D Equestrian Center was founded in its place.

The facility
consists of 867 acres of beautiful rolling hills along the scenic
banks of the Tar River just outside of Louisburg. The Daniels
family has developed nearly 14 miles of riding trails
throughout this vast green space for people to come out and enjoy
on horseback. The trails wind through ancient cypress stands that
date back some 2000 years, which are home to a pair of enormous
North American Bald Eagles. This is a rare beauty for this area
that citizens will be allowed to enjoy.
-
Several of the
dairy’s barns have been remodeled to accommodate 70 stalls and two
large covered arenas (60’ by 330’), one of which is lighted. There
is also an outdoor arena (140’ by 250’) that is also lighted with
a full course of jumps. The stalls are very spacious (16’ by 20’)
allowing the horses plenty of room to move about. The stall
floors are covered with rubber matting and pine shavings for
comfort. There is ample space available for tack and equipment
storage and for feed and hay.

We want to
allow people in the areas surrounding Raleigh and all over the
state to come out into the country and enjoy the peacefulness and
tranquility that this land has to offer. This will be a great
place to bring out the whole family and enjoy an alcohol and drug
free environment. We are trying to preserve our lands without
having to develop the area into housing units using up our
surrounding natural resources and destroying the surrounding
landscape.

Hunt seat, dressage and Western pleasure/equitation
lessons are available. Our trainer, Tory Jordan, has been
teaching children and adults for nearly 20 years with a long
history of successes in and out of the horse show arena. Many of
her students have won local and regional championships and the
horses she has trained have gone on to win at major horse shows.
